Rheinfelden Medieval and Fantasy Festival
Impressionen vom Mittelalter- und Fantasy-Fest 2024
The fourth Medieval and Fantasy Festival will take place on the weekend of June 22 to June 23, 2024 in line with the city's annual motto "mmh - enjoyment in the river". On this weekend, there will be everything to see, taste and experience in the old town that young and old associate with the Middle Ages and fantasy - a treat for all the senses.
Medieval festivals and markets are very popular and have been attracting a growing number of visitors for years. It is obvious that Rheinfelden, as the oldest town in the canton of Aargau, with its historic old town, can offer a wonderful backdrop for a festival experience of this kind. The Medieval and Fantasy Festival takes place every two years in the old town of Rheinfelden, alternating with the Youth Festival. The festival is held in cooperation between the town and an external organizer.
The Middle Ages and fantasy come to Rheinfelden.
Not only medieval and fantasy fans - all other guests will also get their money's worth with the varied program: from show fights and camp life, games and jugglers, to fairy tale hours and a fire show, there is plenty on offer for young and old.
Market stalls with medieval crafts.
65 market traders offer their wares for sale on the main square: cloth, knives, leather, furs, swords and jewelry. You can also watch a dyer and a blacksmith at work.
Free guided tours of the city.
You can benefit from free guided tours of the city on both days. Reserve your tickets now, meeting point is at the town hall.

Fantasy meets the Middle Ages.
The Middle Ages often serve as a backdrop for fantasy worlds. This weekend, Rheinfelden itself will be transformed into such a backdrop:
- Walking acts with orcs, raven folk, forest spirits and Khajiites
- Supervised RPA (role-playing games) such as "Dungeons & Dragons" in the Capuchin Church
- Army camp, orc camp and exhibition battlefield on the sports field

Opening hours Ringmauerscheune: 11 am - 5 pm

Climb the medieval town wall in the Ringmauerscheune and look out over the town. Children and the young at heart can explore the Ringmauer barn in a search game: Whoever finds all the members of the Pieps family in the Ringmauerscheune will receive a small prize. Entry to the Ringmauerscheune is free of charge.
