The brotherhood was founded in 1541 during a plague epidemic in Rheinfelden and is named after the patron saint of plague sufferers, St. Sebastian.

The Advent activities in Rheinfelden will take place this year from Friday, December 1, 2023 to January 7, 2024. Numerous attractions, Christmas markets and illuminations will sweeten the contemplative Christmas season. Admission to the Magic of Lights is free.

For 4 days a year, Mrs. Fasnacht takes over the sceptre in Rheinfelden. From several parades, numerous Guggen concerts and Schnitzelbänke to the big children's carnival, there is something for everyone. The colorful and atmospheric festivities are a celebration for young and old.

The event is a firm fixture in Rheinfeld's calendar of events. The spring market with various stalls, a fashion show and food and drink on the street invites you to stroll through the old town.

Celebrate Switzerland's national holiday in Rheinfelden. In addition to the town's official celebrations at the Kurbrunnen, there are also numerous restaurants offering delicious August 1st menus.

Around 80 tables will wind their way through the Marktgasse and various side streets of Rheinfelden's old town on September 1. Enjoy the unique backdrop and take a seat. Food trucks and restaurants offer their dishes TO GO and the stores are open until 11 pm for you to store and browse.

The autumn market is a firm fixture in the Rheinfeld calendar. Every first weekend in October, numerous market stalls line up in the old town - fashion, crafts, food and much more.
