Boat trip Rheinfelden - Basel

Lock trip.

The boat departs from the center of Basel and reaches Rheinfelden after 2.5 hours. On the way, guests enjoy a fantastic view of the Swiss and German sides of the Rhine. Beautiful landscapes, small villages and towns pass by. Another highlight: the two locks at Birsfelden and Augst are passed on the journey from Basel to Rheinfelden.

Rhystärn.

The Rhystärn is the flagship of Basler Personenschifffahrt. The ship has room for up to 700 people and impresses with its generous window fronts and a cozy deck with bar. From here you can enjoy a great view and feel like you've really arrived on vacation. Treat yourself to regional dishes in the restaurant.

Arrival in the Zähringen town.

The boat arrives at the landing stage in Rheinfelden at 1.30 pm. From there, it is only a few steps to the historic old town. In Marktgasse, our lively main street, there are numerous small stores and inviting restaurants and cafés. A perfect ice cream stop after the lock trip. Or discover the old town on your own with our digital guide. Public guided tours of the town take place at weekends.

Tea Time & Brunch uff em Rhy.

Celebrate the afternoon with friends on the Rhystärn. From 2 to 4 pm, enjoy a fine selection of sweet and savory pastries, homemade scones and local tea from London Tea by Spalenberg. Let the Basel cityscape pass you by and treat yourself to a delicious tea time on the Rhine.

Brunch is served every Sunday from 10.30 am to 2 pm. While the Rhystärn does its rounds on the Rhine, the chef spoils you with regional delicacies on platters.
