Fountain bathing
On hot summer days, life in Rheinfelden takes place around, by and in the water. A popular way to cool off is by bathing in the fountains. The fountains in Rheinfelden are a wonderful place to enjoy the summer and enjoy numerous activities, treats and of course other refreshments before or after bathing.
Rumpel fountain in Rumpel
A fountain centrally located in the old town and yet somewhat hidden. The Rumpel f ountain is also known as the snake fountain and its trademark is the spout with mask. The glockenspiel is also located in the Rumpel and makes the experience of bathing in the fountain a special one.

Albrechtsbrunnen fountain on Albrechtsplatz
The Albrecht F ountain once stood right next to the city hospital and was therefore also called the Hospital Fountain. The fountain is a listed building and its trademark and namesake is Archduke Albrecht VI (1418-1463). The figure is often called "Albrechtli" because of his short legs.

Metzig Fountain on Zähringerplatz
The square is dedicated to the Zähringers, but on hot summer days the Metzig Fountain takes center stage. It is made of Solothurn limestone and its oval bowl bears the city coat of arms with the nine stars and the year.

In addition to bathing in the fountain, the Rhine also promises a pleasant way to cool off in summer. Swimming in the Rhine with the Wickelfisch is particularly popular. You can also enjoy the Rhine in comfort on a boat trip and indulge in the cuisine on board. If you're not a water rat yourself, Rheinfelden also has plenty to offer on land. Thanks to its manageable size, land and water can of course be wonderfully combined in the Zähringerstädtli.
