On this theatrical walking tour, you’ll meet the rival king from Rheinfelden. Rudolf will share first-hand accounts of his life with you.
Have you heard of him yet—the most important Count of Rheinfelden?
If not, you now have the opportunity to meet him during this guided tour. Actor Roland Graf portrays Rudolf von Rheinfelden, known as the German rival king to Henry IV. He takes you back to a time when the balance of power in Europe was repeatedly disrupted by the Church and secular monarchies.

Throughout the Old Town, you’ll find references to Rheinfelden’s most illustrious figure. For example, on the Inseli, where an art installation depicts his swearing hand, crown, and a statue of his daughter Agnes of Rheinfelden. At the entrance toCity Hall, immediately to the left after the iron gate, there is a cast of the tombstone of Rudolf of Rheinfelden (d. 1080).

This tour is only partially accessible for people in wheelchairs or with mobility impairments. The route is predetermined by the itinerary and cannot be adjusted. The City Hall auditorium cannot be visited, as it is only accessible via a steep staircase.
