Family Tour: The Cunning Tailor of Rheinfelden

The crafty tailor in a goat costume takes families with children and school groups on a guided tour through Rheinfelden

The Legend of the Goat and the Tailor.

In the Middle Ages, the Swedes besieged the city. But the tailor used a ruse to drive the besiegers away.
Climb the Storchennest Tower and look down on the Old Town from above. A visit to the little goats, which now graze in front of the city wall, is also part of this guided tour designed for children.

Guided tour for children.

The tour is designed for school classes, kindergartens, and families. Whether for children’s birthday parties, field trips, or hands-on lessons, these tours are an experience for young and old alike. City guide Stephan Schöttli is a former teacher and designed this tour. He recounts the medieval legend in a child-friendly way. His wife Simone designed and sewed the goat costume herself.

The eastern tower of the old town is home to the storks. The tower room can be rented and offers a view of the roofs of the old town.

The tailor and the goat saved Rheinfelden from the Swedes. Visit the real Rheinfelden goats in their home at the Storchennestturm.

Accessible City Tour.

We are happy to accommodate your individual requests. Do you have participants with mobility impairments? Please let us know so that the tour guides can take this into account. The route will then be planned to ensure there are plenty of places to sit at short intervals. City tours are also available for people in wheelchairs. The tour and sights will be slightly adjusted so that no insurmountable stairs prevent you from enjoying the experience.

People in wheelchairs or with mobility impairments can participate in this tour. The only exception is the Stork’s Nest Tower, which cannot be visited.
