Bistro Salmen by ela+etta
The Bistro Salmen is located in the heart of the old town, right next to the town hall. As the birthplace of SalmenBräu Cardinal, it offers eight different types of beer, homemade croque monsieur, soup of the day, seasonal salad as well as wine and cocktails with and without alcohol. The entire menu can also be enjoyed on the nearby Rhine terrace of the city library.
Traditional house "zum Salmen".
The house at Marktgasse 10 was the birthplace of SalmenBräu Cardinal beer. In 1799, the pig dealer Franz Joseph Dietschy acquired the "zum Salmen" inn with the associated brewing rights. The richly decorated façade is a real eye-catcher in Rheinfelden's old town and is a reminder of the early days of Rheinfelden beer, which now belongs to Feldschlösschen.
Beer & Croque Monsieur.
Beer is still served here today: 2 types of open beer, but also wine from Switzerland, Spain and Italy as well as cocktails with and without alcohol. Another specialty is the Croque Monsieur (also vegetarian), as well as seasonal soups and salads. The culinary offer is very seasonal and varies throughout the year.
The Bistro Salmen is also the perfect place to meet for coffee and cake or a sandwich. Or for a cozy after-work.
Rheinfelden City Library.
The Bistro Salmen is also the unofficial café of the Rheinfelden City Library. The entire range of food and drink can also be enjoyed on the Rhine terrace of the town library. This is also a wonderful location for wedding aperitifs or other celebrations.
Families with children are also very welcome after their visit to the library.
